WineDown Wednesday: A Fundraiser

On the final Wednesday of each show, gallery43 hosts a local non-profit in the gallery for a fundraiser. During that evening, 10% of the proceeds go directly to that organization as a charitable contribution. Purchases may be made online for those unable to attend the event.

Our January event benefits the Roswell Arts Fund

The Roswell Arts Fund was founded to strengthen the scope of public arts in the city and to champion the ability of the arts to excite the imagination, strengthen public places, and encourage conversation. The Fund was established in September 2014 and was designated as the arts agency for the city in October 2015. It was created as a direct outcome of the Imagine Roswell Arts and Culture 2030 Study.

The focus of the Roswell Arts Fund is on making the city of Roswell a destination for the arts and to make the arts a part of the city’s brand by:

  • Investing strategically in public art β€” temporary exhibits like ArtAround Roswell, and permanent, like Bucket Brigade for Fire Station #4.

  • Exploring how to build, buy, or renovate a new multifunction performance space.

  • Cultivating a culture of philanthropy and identify revenue sources to drive initiatives.

  • Forging meaningful and collaborative relations between artists, art organizations, creative industries, and business and political leaders.

gallery43 is fortunate to have one of the public art installations outside our front door in the Roswell Square: Smoke, by Marc Moulton.

Made of aluminum and self-weathering steel, Smoke captures the lyrical beauty of smoke as it drifts toward the sky.  Just imagine: is this smoke rising from a campfire or from the nearby Roswell Mill in days gone by?

Marc Moulton is a Georgia native whose artistic direction has focused on creating art works for public spaces, successfully responding to project boundaries while creating sculpture that is conceptually and visually compelling.
